TUNESday: "Dance Apocalyptic" by Janelle Monáe

This year has had a really strong summer of music, with great releases from numerous artists. Right now I am at a point where it's difficult to narrow down song selections to post on this TUNESday feature, and the list of  current tracks to highlight doesn't appear to be coming to an end anytime soon.

This week's selection once again comes from the Starbucks app that I have downloaded to my iPhone. The option to get it for free was offered just last week, and you may still be able to score it if you act fast. The single "Dance Apocalyptic" comes from Janelle Monáe's latest album entitled "Electric Lady," and couldn't be more perfect for a quick run.

The music video below reminded me of the Outkast video for "Hey Ya!" but in true Janelle Monáe style, it takes place in a parallel universe that isn't quite what you'd expect. Also missing is her signature pompadour, however she's still sporting it in real life.
